I'm not sure what word to use for "allele". I used "tairmupli" on IRC the = other day; that means "x1 is the x2 form of x3", such as "=ABsang=BB is the= past = tense form of =ABsing=BB". I think an allele could be a mupli, but I'm not = sure = what property it shows; sometimes an allele makes no difference to the prot= ein = produced. Also, one can talk of an allele of a SNP that isn't part of a gen= e.
