The point here is that people with jbovlaste accounts are *automatically* subscribed to this list. We had problems in the past where people who signed up for accounts were not participating in discussions about how to use the system, and would keep doing whatever wrong things they were doing until we went and contacted them personally. The system we're using allows peple to easily unsubscribe themselves, but I've got a system in place to put them back until/unless their account is disabled. I'd really rather not have to replicate it for Google Groups. What I can do, and have done, is make the new account page a *LOT* more clear as to the purpose of the account: http://jbovlaste.lojban.org/newaccount.html -Robin -- They say: "The first AIs will be built by the military as weapons." And I'm thinking: "Does it even occur to you to try for something other than the default outcome?" See http://shrunklink.com/cdiz http://www.digitalkingdom.org/~rlpowell/ *** http://www.lojban.org/
