Surely they are related.  If I hope that something will happen, it may or 
may not happen.  x3 gives the subjective probability of it happening.
Now if you are suggesting x3 will not be used very often, I agree. 
But then there are many gismu with far-out places that are likely 
to be used only infrequently.
