Background: gleki has been trying to get people to move to
mw.lojban.org (which has better software, but he doesn't have the
skill to transfer the data), and has been a huge annoyance for me in
that regard as he keeps needing me to handle technical things he
can't.

At some point in the last week or so he made the independent
decision to add advertisements (large, picture-based ones) to the
main lojban.org Tiki setup.  This is my response.

So, you broke the site for all logged in users.  That doesn't bother
me that much, as technical mistakes happen, but it *does* bother me
that apparently you didn't bother to *test* your changes (i.e. to
get a normal user to try it both logged in and not).  But that's
only annoying.

On the other hand, you made a financial decision without asking the
Treasurer of the LLG, or the board, and you made a decision that
significantly impacts our community perception (I've been getting
ads that basically boil down to "find a Thai hooker here") without
speaking to the LLG board.

All for a benefit that doesn't exist; the LLG has all the money it
needs short of having enough money to hire full time professionals,
which these ads would not provide.

Your editor access has been revoked, the ad has been removed.  If
the ads are still on mw.lojban.org by next Monday, I will shut it
down.

I'm *furious* that you made this decision without discussion with
anyone.  Be thankful that I'm not already deleting the MW just to
spite you.
