My excuses have been impending and now arrived grandparent-hood, coupled with my son moving home after job loss. But now that the holidays are over, and my son has started back to work, these aren't much of an excuse. So unless there is objection, I intend to call the annual meeting to start 15 Jan. I think we need to discuss the state (and future) of the byfy work, revision of CLL, etc. Robin seems to clearly not have the time to get this done on his own, and I am in deep befuddlement over what every one else is up to (and gleki and selpa'i, the two names I know best of the new wave, seem to be more individualist rather than team/group oriented, and I don't want to see the effort splintering). We may need to start thinking of the long-term "fate" of LLG. I've now passed 60, and while my health is not deteriorating, it isn't great. We need more than Robin in the long term for active management of the organizational aspects of LLG. The Internet makes doing "business" much more efficient than it used to when we were limited to snailmail and phonecons, and in-person annual meetings, but the organization has become more diffused. For legal and business matters, this may not be a good thing (note to self - find out how the Internet has affected Esperanto's and other languages' organizational support structure) Robin: Nora is not sure that she is up to trying the Secretary/Treasurer gig at this point. The last few months have rendered her minimal Lojban activity even less than before, and she finds the idea daunting. She's forgotten a lot of what she used to do, other than minutes-keeping, and she needs some considerable reassurance regarding the state of your automation of the job. If it is important to you that she step forward, I suggest you email her directly. (She continues to back us up on monitoring the lojban@lojban email feed, but only a couple times a week). lojbab _______________________________________________ llg-board mailing list llg-board@lojban.org http://mail.lojban.org/mailman/listinfo/llg-board
