If And is willing to do some job related to the Board I'm ready to step down to give space. As for the President I'd still want to see some person who is in the order of my preference (I'm reminding my previous position): 1. US resident available to mass media (because LLG is technically in US) 2. speaks at least simple Lojban (fluency in at least 500 words of core cmavo/gismu lexicon) 3. has jbocifnu As almost no such person has appeared in history I will support those who satisfy at least some of those criteria starting from 1. Also I suggest INFORMALLY DISCUSSING outside of these meeting possible removal of the position of the President from LLG at all. This "parliamentary republic" might be a better solution in the current situation where few people want to step up. This way we'll have just directors and RESPONSIBILITY would be shared between all of us. The Treasurer position is of course still crucially important. This paragraph doesn't mean that I do want to remove the position of the president now and immediately. > > ------------------- > > As stated in my first post above, I am willing to serve another year as > President, but I do not believe that I can effectively lead the community > in the way that I once did, and am not sure how much I want the job. up.

There being several new Board members, it is proper to declare the old
Board meeting ended, and to call a new meeting to order.=C2=A0 I will leave=
it to mukti to decide what to do about minutes for last year's meeting.=

So:=C2=A0 I call the Board of Directors of the Logical Language Group, Inc.=
to order.

Board members please post an email indicating your presence at the meeting.=

After the attendance is verified, the first order of business is
electing new officers.=C2=A0 Please read the Bylaws so you know the duties = of
the officers, and consider if you are willing to serve.

I am willing to serve one more year as president.=C2=A0 But rather more
strongly than last year, I want a Vice president willing to do more
active leadership of the community, and who is in training to take over
as president when I step down or am unable to do the job.=C2=A0 If ko'a= feels
competent to chair the annual meeting, I will likely delegate that
function to ko'a.

lojbab
Robert LeChevalier, President
The Logical Language Group, Inc.

I believe that all have responded positively.=C2=A0 We now need to elect of= ficers.=C2=A0 The current officers are me, lojbab as president, And (no lon= ger on the Board) as Vice President (it technically is possible to have an = officer who is not on the Board, but probably not a wise idea), and Riley M= artinez-Lynch aka mukti as Secretary/Treasurer.=C2=A0 I am also serving as = the Virginia corporate agent, which is a state requirement and not a Bylaws= officer.

At this point, people should step forward and state whether they are willin= g to serve in any of the Officer roles, and whether they actually want the = job.=C2=A0 Asking questions about what is needed in each job is also in ord= er.

Perhaps in this governance "year" we can set forth a list of thin= gs that need doing/leading at the organization level, and allocate responsi= bilities to the various offices, but for the most part that has to come aft= er we elect officers.

The governance year will hopefully be much shorter than a calendar year, be= cause we probably need to start the next annual meeting by around September= with a hope of actually finishing the meeting by the end of the year.

So please speak up.

If the Board or LLG= in general needs any temporary work to be done I will try as much as possi= ble.
If And is willing to do some job related to the Board I'= m ready to step down to give space.

As for the Pre= sident I'd still want to see some person who is in the order of my pref= erence (I'm reminding my previous position):
1. US resident a= vailable to mass media (because LLG is technically in US)
2. spea= ks at least simple Lojban (fluency in at least 500 words of core cmavo/gism= u lexicon)
3. has jbocifnu

As almost no = such person has appeared in history I will support those who satisfy at lea= st some of those criteria starting from 1.

Also I = suggest INFORMALLY DISCUSSING outside of these meeting possible removal of = the position of the President from LLG at all. This "parliamentary rep= ublic" might be a better solution in the current situation where few p= eople want to step up. This way we'll have just directors and RESPONSIB= ILITY would be shared between all of us. The Treasurer position is of cours= e still crucially important. This paragraph doesn't mean that I do want= to remove the position of the president now and immediately.
=C2=A0

-------------------

As stated in my first post above, I am willing to serve another year as Pre= sident, but I do not believe that I can effectively lead the community in t= he way that I once did, and am not sure how much I want the job.=C2=A0 I am= not active enough, and am not able and willing enough to make Lojban a hig= her priority in my life, which would be needed for me to properly lead.=C2= =A0 I remain plateaued at a Lojban skill level insufficient to allow me to = even keep up with discussion in-language, much less actively participate in= same. I'm getting old, and whether or not my health remains a concern,= I have more trouble learning new things in arenas where I am not totally f= ocused.=C2=A0 I also am almost totally uninvolved in the modern Internet so= cial networking community.=C2=A0 email and land-line telephone are 99% of m= y communication.

On the other hand, I still support the goals of the language and the organi= zation, and have a good portion of the institutional memory of the Loglan/L= ojban effort.=C2=A0 With a Vice President who could and would do more of wh= at I cannot, things might work better than they have.

I still am capable of serving as the Virginia agent, so that my home addres= s remains the official corporate address.=C2=A0 The primary job is relaying= communications received at that address to whoever is responsible for hand= ling the issue.=C2=A0 This includes state notices, like our annual corporat= e filing, and occasional queries and book orders received by snail mail.
