I mostly agree with you Robin, and indeed I point out that the revolution against me was largely because I wasn't going to the Board and community for decisions but making them by myself. If Matt saw the decision as being something affecting the community rather than his own personal interest in the language, then indeed the Board is who is supposed to be the first responders. Asking Robin what is possible, and what he would prefer, wrt the web site, is a useful step preparatory to going to the Board. In point of fact, it is quite unlikely that the Board would go against Robin's strong feelings either way, but if Robin has no strong feelings, ... well, we are here to make decisions; why put all the responsibility on Robin, who doesn't seem to be looking to add more to his plate? On the other hand, given that this is something Matt wants to do himself, not get someone else to do, it seems that the appropriate thing would be for him to declare a Lojban project, describe it, and seek "official" status for it. The mechanism is in place for that sort of thing already. I suggest that perhaps this effort could be merged with Jay's monthly announcement project that never got off the ground, and people could subscribe to this posting much as they would have subscribed to said lists. Just as I don't read the wiki discussions, I am unlikely to read one or several blogs. I might read an email at least once in a while. Or perhaps the content could be converted into a print format and used to reactivate the long dormant JL. (I would leave it to Matt and Jay to determine whether this step would need sufficient additional editing and formatting to ask Jay to actually prepare the JL issues, or whether their creation could be largely automated as part of the creation of Matt's effort. (My preference would be for at least a couple of pages of JL content in English, since the existing subscriber base, such as it is worth, was used to a significantly English publication. But we could phase over to all-Lojban after several issues.) lojbab
