If yes, do nothing. If no, the taskmaster picks a new section for the BPFK to work on. If the section that we are leaving has a concrete issue to vote on, the taskmaster calls a vote, with a voting deadline three days later. That's what I volunteered for. Let me know if my description can be carried out in a way you would consider too hands-on. If you're worried that I had a larger role in mind, I can reassure you on that score. Nagging the members to work requires only that I possess their email address, and the awareness that Lakmeer is not doing so. The only tasks requiring that I be officially designated taskmaster by the committee, is calling a vote and picking a new section, which I don't have to do if you would prefer that I not. As for proposals, anyone can make them in whatever official capacity they are granted, or no capacity at all. Others will either like them or not-- I cannot make anyone do anything. -Eppcott On Wed, Sep 2, 2009 at 4:24 PM, Arnt Richard Johansen wrote: > On Wed, Sep 02, 2009 at 03:38:01PM -0400, Matt Arnold wrote: >> I volunteer to serve as cat-herder. >> >> I know I failed a couple of years ago, but it will be different now >> for several reasons. > > If you hadn't sent that last e-mail where you proposed to delete lots of selma'o, I would have been all for it. But both as a director (because I would like the BPFK to proceed) and as a commissioner (because I would like BPFK to proceed _in the right direction_), I need assurance that you will lead the BPFK in a hands-off manner. > > -- > Arnt Richard Johansen                                http://arj.nvg.org/ > Evan, a Quiz Bowl reject, nevertheless knows more than what's good for > him.
