AFAIK, the books are all paid for, so everything we make on the books from now on is pure profit. We can set the price low, so as to spread Lojban more effectively, or we can set it a little bit higher, to make more money to make more books. > > Some thoughts to consider: > > * How low do we need to go to get significantly more sales? Unless another friend of Lojbab's is going to Michigan soon, we'll have to actually pay for the books to get into Matt's house. We have to set the price high enough to cover this, and then some. The same friend goes to Michigan a few times a year, and almost certainly will be going at Christmastime. (He went to Michigan in August, but we never managed to make a connection for him to pick up a few boxes of books before he left.) I therefore suggest a $10 drop in price as of 1 January. But I also suggest that we not announce it in advance, unless Matt runs out of books before then. Bear in mind that we can always drop the price further as we get closer to a second edition, with the lowest price coming when we actually have a date of publication (which we can't realistically set until the writing is nearly done - Nora and John I spent a good 6 months on indexing and proof-checking). lojbab
