Thanks for your comments, they'll help me correcting some minor misconceptions and getting oriented. I'll give your comments some proper thought before going on. Just at the moment I don't have much time for that as I've moved back to my old home town and have spent the last few weeks finishing the renovation for sale of my previous apartment. The operation is almost ready except for a few minor details but rather tedious as I've never had a car and consequently have to use public transport between the towns (bus-bus-train - work for a few hours - train-bus-bus, often spending more time travelling than working.) I'm retired now and have no intention what so ever of becoming a "busy pensioner". The only regular thing on my schedule is a very elementary course of elementary Arabic once a week at the local adult education centre. After the first three lessons I'm beginning to think that the course mostly helps me to understand the problems "ordinary" people have when trying to learn a completely alien language with a nonprofessional, non-linguist teacher (a Sudanese immigrant married to Finland) having major difficulties with Finnish pronunciation, orthography, vocabulary and grammar - and with not the foggiest idea of how to proceed and why (with my background I could probably explain more and more relevant things in fifteen minutes than she has done in three hours.) In addition to this course I hope to do some reading, writing, photography and trekking, but all this ought to leave me ample time for Lojban, I think, both brushing up the language and performing various technical tasks within my competence.
