But I need an address if I am to send anything, and I haven't been following the list thread closely either, in case someone has posted one. ------ My comments, though late: By my recollection, 16 is not an especially large class at a college, and indeed is on the small side. I don't think I had more than a couple classes that small, and they were all upper division specialized classes that were elective. "Huge" to me meant 200+ students. I think we have had other college-level Lojban classes, some I think to larger classes (I think there was a class of around 30 at St Marys College in the SF Bay area in the early 90s - it covered multiple artificial languages but Lojban got major billing), and we haven't previously offered free books (Offering a significant discount would have seemed more reasonable to me.) Goodwill is valuable, but CLL sales are the bulk of our income for several years. Luckily, our expenses have been minimal and.or covered by Robin or others. And on the other hand, even at the greatly increased sales rate at amazon recently (we've gone from a rate of something like 20 books a year to somewhere between 50 and a 100 books a year, and rising), we have a few years stock taking up space in my basement, and a new edition in preparation that will make those copies at least somewhat obsolete, hopefully long before we run out of stock. So eventually our stock won't be worth much more than remainder value. lojbab -- Bob LeChevalier lojbab@lojban.org www.lojban.org President and Founder, The Logical Language Group, Inc.
