I understand the possible advantages of such a voting system, but in the case of LLG, it may be a solution to a problem that hardly exists. There have been only two contested elections in the 26 years of the organization. Normally, there are fewer than 7 candidates, and someone makes a motion to elect all of them as a slate (which motion usually passes without opposition). Since it would take a bylaw amendment, and we seldom have everyone present at a meeting, the bylaw change proposal needs to be written in advance, and then is announced at the meeting call, which has to be at least 15 days before the meeting itself. So you need to remember this for next year, and remind whoever is president in advance of the meeting (which really should be started around September or so, after everyone is back from summer vacations). _______________________________________________ Llg-members mailing list Llg-members@lojban.org http://mail.lojban.org/mailman/listinfo/llg-members
