I'm not sure that it is very troublesome at all, since Robin systematized everything to use a piece of off-the-shelf software that mukti already had and knows how to use. In general there is the accounting that is associated with every business. There are various submissions required as part of tax laws, some quarterly and some annually. The secretary is also supposed to produce minutes of the various official meetings and keep up the official copies of the bylaws and membership list. I have wanted us to be keeping track of the customers that have bough copies of CLL, which is what I did when I was trying to do the job, but I think Robin decided wasn't necessary. Having a customer list is useful when we put out new versions or publications, or when we try to organize activities that prior customers might want to be involved in. But keeping up a good customer list takes work, and ideally involves having something to say to the customers on the list worthy of sending mail to them. (Sending mail to them helps us keep track of when addresses have changed or aren't valid any more). So all of this requires a significantly higher level of effort than doing the most basic Secretary/Treasurer job. And it has to be done consistently or it probably isn't worth doing at all. A good list of addresses would be useful, for example, in planning geographically based activities and sub-groups, as was mentioned in another posting. > We also would need a Bylaw change to allow a person to hold > multiple offices. If I have a right to vote I also approve of la guskant All LLG members will have a right to vote for between 3 and 7 candidates, But please wait to vote until we have a slate of possible candidates for the Board. lojbab _______________________________________________ Llg-members mailing list Llg-members@lojban.org http://mail.lojban.org/mailman/listinfo/llg-members
