I was complaining about what seemed like an entirely ungermain email probably having something to do with CLL 2.0 was posted to the LLG members list during a formal meeting, when as you say above, the BPFK is entirely independent of the LLG membership - and many of us have no clue at all what is being done, or by whom. gleki's message was particularly technical, and I've been particularly tired and having trouble focusing, and people are unhappy that the meeting is taking so long, so please forgive me if I come across as short of temper, or dictatorial, when faced with something that I cannot connect to the topic at hand. > If folks are motivated > to work on the content of a future edition of the CLL, they should do > that. Editing a draft is in no way equivalent to an official change! I have no idea what editing a draft is in the context of what BPFK is doing. Cowan's interpretation makes considerable sense to me, if that is what is being done. But the Directors election during the meeting is not the time to talk about it, and it wasn't germane to my comments in response to what people said several weeks ago, on what LLG should be and do as an organization in the future (post-lojbab). I expect that the BPFK jatna will eventually speak to the membership and talk about such things, when we get to that point of the meeting agenda. (I hope that at that point, he will be prepared to speak for himself and the BPFK, perhaps in some detail). > A work-in-progress is hosted on Github, which means there is always a > trail of who changed what and when, for us to use when we go about > officially approving things. This would be better posted on the main list, and perhaps if it focuses on what beginners can do in contribution, to the beginners list as well. Such posting DOES need the explanation of what is being done, and why, in relatively non technical jargon. pushes, pulls and forks probably would make sense to me when I wear my software development/configuration management hat, but I've been quasi-retired for 30 years, and the jargon doesn't come easily any more. lojbab _______________________________________________ Llg-members mailing list Llg-members@lojban.org http://mail.lojban.org/mailman/listinfo/llg-members
