A dictionary for > them will lack words for "Marocco". Sure. Sufficiently developed natlangs have learner's dictionaries, children's dictionaries, general dictionaries, dictionaries of ephemeral words and usages, dictionaries of technical terms: but none of them are official in any meaningful sense. Even in France, the Academy's dictionary isn't the one actually appealed to by publishers to settle orthographic or usage questions. I forgot to mention the matter of gismu, which should probably be kept as stable as possible too. Not that gismu space is especially precious, but in order to keep wars over that space down to a minimum. If we are asked "Why is there no gismu for {food|country|organism}?" the answer can be a shrug and "The Founders decided otherwise". > LLG/BPFK will have to deal with paedagogics anyway. Well, someone hopefully will. It doesn't have to be a formal Lojban organization. -- John Cowan http://www.ccil.org/~cowan cowan@ccil.org Does anybody want any flotsam? / I've gotsam.
