As stated in the = subject, as last I checked, I seem to still be among the living.=A0 I = have just been reading through the list for the latest annual meeting = and wish to express my appreciation for the objection to my removal from = membership even though I have been among the least active of = members.=A0=A0

While I appreciate the necessity of holding = meetings online (I'm a member of at least one other group that does = that), I am a little dismayed that email was chosen as the only means of alerting members of a meeting.=A0 = My phone number is listed and hasn't changed in 11 years and my snail = mail address has remained the same for the last 6 years.=A0 And while my = email address has not changed in about 6 or 7 years, I would think that = alternative means of contact=A0would be in order before the = recommendation to remove a long standing member, should it be evident = that email has not sufficed.=A0=A0A quick phone call is cheap these = days.=A0 And I'm not talking about just me here.=A0=A0

Email addresses these days can be changed as = often as socks.=A0=A0And while I steadfastly insist on holding on to = this address, the ever increasing barrage of spam is making it = increasingly more difficult to see the wheat among the flurry of chaff.=A0= I also had made the mistake of filtering all mail with lojban.org in = the headers into the same mailbox, which from spring until now has = accumulated over 4000 pieces of email.=A0 My bad and I will correct this = by creating a new filter for the especially for llg-members email.=A0 = But I have to say that it is very nice to see such a = proliferation of activity, indicating that the language is not = moribund!!!=A0 :-)=A0 =A0

I had also been working on = a computer which was becoming increasingly quirky, cranky, and just = plain not fun to work on since it was well over 6 years old, and I was = not in a position to replace it due to my spotty employment history = after the meltdown of WorldScum some three years ago.=A0 I am happy to = report that my finances are on the mend and that I now have (as of just = last week) a new computer.=A0 This is adding up to a general improvement = in my overall disposition, which had taken a bit of a beating from the = general slings and arrows of outrageous fortune over the last few = years.=A0 Oops!=A0 I just noticed that the "Oversharing" light has come = on, so I'll stop with this now.=A0=A0

Having said all that, I = would like to especially praise Robin Lee Powell for all of his hard = work, as well as the rest of you have been so active this year.=A0 = Congratulations (I think!) to the new board.=A0 I would also like to = express praise for all of you have taken your valuable time to continue = promoting lojban.=A0=A0
