Since these are minutes from *last years* meeting, what is needed are links to the verbatim postings that were made by officers and committee/project chairs *last year*. I vaguely remember that there were some (or that you asked for them), but not who and what was reported. Since everything is exchanged on line, I would not expect that you would need to write anything new as a report for last year. For this year of course, you may need to write a report, and I wouldn't necessarily expect it to be written yet (gawd knows I did my reports ad hoc on the day I presented them after the first couple of years %^) >>The explanation will affect my vote for officers for the next year >>(assuming I am on the Board), and should be a consideration in the >>vote by the members for the composition of the Board: if we are >>going to effectively vest all of the bylaw offices in Robin >>Powell, even if he is fully capable of doing them all (3 cheers to >>Robin for getting the meeting going close-to-on-time BTW), it >>should be a conscious decision by the membership and the Board to >>do so and not an unexplained default action. > > > Point. > > However, please note that Arnt has, in fact, done a fair bit of > board stuff this year; in particular, he provides a much better face > to the organization in e-mail than I do, and I have regularily > leaned on him for that. I had no complaint about Arnt's efforts (or yours for that matter). I merely noted to myself that one of the major legitimate complaints about my modus operandi as president was that I made decisions, discussing them with an officer or two (Nora or John) and carried them out without putting it formally to the Board, and sometimes without recording a formal explanation. Given your post-transition focus on LLG as a legal and business entity, I am especially concerned with watching for those activities which might be troublesome in that context. The post-transition officers HAVE been taking short cuts without discussing them with the Board, different ones than the sorts that I took, because the people and circumstances are different. As long as I hold get to remind you that we sometimes need to pay attention to following formal procedures, I am happy to let most things slide by with an explanation on the record. lojbab
