If you don't trust me with your > money, you really need to elect a new Sec/Treas for the LLG. :-) Actually, I suggest that people donate to LLG, specifying the "LogFest fund", which will go to pay expenses associated with LogFest, which can include the costs of key people attending for purposes associated with the organization's charter - Matt's costs being among them, since you have made clear that the reason for paying for his costs is clearly related to the LLG charter. The difference, of course, is that such donations are tax deductible (though you need to issue a receipt for any such donation exceeding some amount like $75). It would of course require a Board motion approving expenditure from the fund to pay for Matt's costs, but that should be trivial. More importantly, we should be making some use of our non-profit status when it is helpful and not questionable - it makes it a little easier to ask for donations when we have something specific to spend the money on (rather than just paying for it ourselves, which is generous but shouldn't be necessary), and it also gives people an idea on the sorts of things their donations will go for, when they donate unspecified funds to LLG. lojbab
