I certainly want to talk you out of it (therefore it logically follows that you are not removing yourself %^) But if you want some reasons to not repeat your statement without the condition. 1. You are obviously paying attention to the member's list, demonstrated by noticing the meeting has started and posting immediately, thus fulfilling your responsibility. 2. Your historical participation ranks about as high as anyone's, and demonstrates long term commitment to the goals set forth in the bylaws. 3. You were actively present at the last LogFest, showing interest in the community within the last year. 4. You've participated in byfy discussions at least as recently as June, which makes you more active than 3/4 of byfy members. 5. Even if you were to become totally inactive except for the meeting, by remaining a member people will still consider you a resource that can be called upon for advise and expertise, and in some areas (such as interpretation of CLL) you are the sole person qualified. 6. Even if you were to become totally inactive except for the meeting (thereby matching a good chunk of the membership), your continued nominal participation is at least as valuable to the project as mine is, since you are the author of CLL, past director and president, grammarian, etc. Founders and other key people leaving an artificial language project short of death or retirement will tend to be seen by history as an abandonment or renunciation, which might be interpreted negatively. I could probably provide a few more reasons, but I think that is already about as many reasons as could be offered for most of the membership. lojbab
