The meeting is going far too smoothly this year, and I'm bored. je'u nai sai zo'o We (the inhabitants of the *very* active #lojban IRC channel) have been having a little problem for the last, umm, couple of years. Newbies come in and try to say things, and almost instantly someone says "Not in xorlo" and corrects them. I then step in and say "Now, now, don't do that, it's not official yet". Someone inevitably points out that xorlo is much easier for newbies, a minor flamewar erupts, and we confuse and/or lose potential new Lojbanists. This Sucks Ass. For those of you who someohow aren't familiar with xorlo, see http://www.lojban.org/tiki/tiki-index.php?page=How%20to%20use%20xorlo and all the pages it links to. At the behest of certain others on #lojban, I therefore move that the membership recognize xorlo. Specifically, I move that the membership assert that xorlo is more correct than the CLL at this time, that whatever the BPFK come up with xorlo will be part of it, and that new Lojbanists should be taught it as soon as possible. As chair of this meeting, I point to http://www.csuchico.edu/sac/parliament.html#VI for a summary of what happens now, since it's been a couple of years since anyone presented a motion that was not trivially approved by consent. -Robin -- Lojban Reason #17: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buffalo_buffalo Proud Supporter of the Singularity Institute - http://singinst.org/ http://www.digitalkingdom.org/~rlpowell/ *** http://www.lojban.org/
