That's odd. I would expect most anything that is correct pre-xorlo should remain correct in xorlo, so the situation as you paint it should not arise that often. If it does, something has gone wrong. I suspect the problem is more of this type: Newbie or oldie says something that would be correct in xorlo. Someone else corrects it on the grounds that it is not correct pre-xorlo.
