I don't oppose this seal, but I also don't think it will raise any income or have any important effect. In addition, the relevant authorities who would judge a site will refuse to do so until BPFK's work is done. (An unnecessary step, in my opinion, for the types of simple sites to which this seal would be applied. But that is the level of over-perfectionism I have come to expect.) -Eppcott On Thu, Nov 5, 2009 at 4:21 PM, CosmicRay wrote: > I've added a Spanish seal for sites in Spanish about Lojban (see it using > the demo login for the admin system and select "spa" for a seal's language). > > Would someone kindly send me the Lojban translations of the following text > strings for sites in Lojban or that may prefer a Lojban seal?  Translations > to other languages also very welcome. > > * "Associated Site" > * "Associated Status granted to" (site name and domain follow) > * "*NUM*% of this site's profits are donated to the LLG" (*NUM* is an > integer from 1 to 100, or string isn't used if zero) > * "LLG Associated Site Inspectorate" > * "Under Inspection" (re the site it's on) > * "Retracted" (re the seal, from the site it's on) > > Regards, > > kozmikreis > > > > CosmicRay wrote: >> >> Dear LLG Members, >> >>    Some time before I went abroad I mentioned a few ideas to promote >> Lojban, including a charter for regional websites/groups: >> >>  >   I'd like to set up lojban.org.uk as a UK-centric hub of Lojban >>  > activity, and was thinking how it would be good to have a charter issed >>  > by the LLG for it.  The charter could be optional for any pro-Lojban >>  > site to adopt, and can include principles that cover the quality of >> site >>  > and content, freshness of the Lojban published on it as the language >>  > evolves, and agreement to donate a percentage of any operating profit >> to >>  > the LLG.  In return for adopting the charter, a site gets an official >>  > LLG seal to display and show its affiliation status, and can call on >>  > LLG-certified experts on various matters (within a predefined service >>  > level agreement of sorts). >>  > >>  >   I believe having a charter and encouraging localised groups to form >>  > and adopt it, both in location and native language, will be like >>  > franchising Lojban and giving it wider exposure than the one official >>  > plus random scattering of fan-looking sites there currently is can >>  > manage.  It will also ensure that more Lojban domain names are snapped >>  > up and used well (without hitting LLG funds, quite the opposite), >> rather >>  > than taken over by cybersquatters or other people with bad deeds in >> mind. >>  > >>  > Benefits: >>  > >>  > * The LLG can ensure that 3rd party sites adhere to codes of quality >> and >>  > freshness in the Lojban they expound >>  > * Lojban gets much wider exposure and acceptance as an international >>  > language >>  > * Regional activities and events will be easier to organise and attend >>  > * Raises money for the LLG >> >>    With this in mind I've created a draft seal design and an >> administration system for creating and modifying seals, see >> http://lojban.co.uk/ for an example seal in situ, and log into >> http://lojban.co.uk/admin/ (username and password both "demo") to change the >> seal around in various ways.  Feel free to explore creating and modifying >> the seals, and click on the thumbnails to see them larger. >> >>    The seal generation system can create and cache various size images >> on-the-fly, can accomodate JPEG with a solid background colour of choice or >> transparent PNG output, and soon text in languages other than English only. >> >>    For a 1st draft charter, please let me know your thoughts on this: >> >> ----- start of charter ----- >> Logical Language Group Associated Site Charter >> >> >> >> 1.
