Please note this official approval on the minutes page. Noting that the 2007 Minutes are marked as "provisional", I call for any objections to removing that "provisional" status. If there is no objection by 00:00 UT Wednesday morning (1 Sep). ----- I've posted my President's report (finally). I haven't seen a report on the byfy from Robin, but I think we all are pretty much aware of the status. We need more people working on it. I'm not especially satisfied with what has been reported on the Lojban certification project, but I think Mark Shoulson, the remaining appointed leader (since Matt has dropped his involvement) wasn't yet signed in when I made the request for a report. Mark - do you have anything to say? If not, I am obliged to make sure this effort is discussed under Old Business. ----- I observed no proposals for removal of members, and no suggestions (or volunteers) for new members. It is very unusual to have a meeting with NO new members proposed. I'm going to give 3 more days before closing the door on nominations for New Members, again until 00:00 UT Wednesday morning, but will call for a 3-day voting period immediately if any are proposed, if the person nominated has expressed a willingness to serve. Potentially, therefore, the agenda item could remain open until next Saturday. ----- I now open nominations for the Board of Directors, but will repeat the call for nominations after the membership agenda item has closed, because election of the Board is required to follow membership decisions. The actual Board election can thus be expected sometime in the following week. If there is any indication of a contest, I will allow a full week for voting, because I know some members are vacationing or otherwise traveling. Feel free to nominate yourself. So far as I know, all three existing Directors are willing to continue, and I submit their names as a start. But as I noted in the President's report, we need more. Three is the minimum, and we are allowed up to seven directors (possibly 8 if I serve ex officio as Virginia representative but am not otherwise elected). If you wish to volunteer, please be sure to have read the bylaws, so you know what you are signing up for. -- Bob LeChevalier lojbab@lojban.org www.lojban.org President and Founder, The Logical Language Group, Inc.
