I'm quite new as well. You seem to be picking it up.

{la'o gy. Adam COOPER .gy fo le samxa'a cu cusku fe di'e}

If you're going to use the native spelling, you need cmavo like {la'o}
or {zoi}. Also, don't forget the {cu}; there are times when it's not
elidable.
