It wouldn't be much of a problem if all tags consistently behaved that way, but unfortunately that's not the case. For example: {la meris klama ki'u lenu mi klama fi le kumfa} is basically equivalent to {la meris klama .i ki'u bo mi klama fi le kumfa}.
