I think {e'unai} goes with an unrealized action, which may or may not be dangerous. There may be many reason to disadvise a course of action, not just danger. {o'i} goes with a dangerous situation, which may or may not be already realized. In this case, we have an unrealized dangerous situation, so either (or both) would be appropriate, depending on whether you want to emphasize the warning of danger or the warning to avoid. > > DEJAH THORIS > > > > cumki fa le nu lo vinji pe ma'a cu me'imoi facki ma'a > > > > SUPER: Our own ships may find us first. > > > > possible-that: the event the-really ship of ours priorly finds us > > (this line by la noras) > > {me'imoi} sounds weird. What about {puku}? {me'imoi} is "other-than-last". I don't see how that is better than {pamoi} when there are only two things being compared: "the Green Men take you" vs. "our own ships find us". There is only a first and a last, so "other-than-last" is the same as "first". As you say, "before" seems better, but because Lojban conflates "before" and "in the past" it could also be confusing. mu'o mi'e xorxes
