That's a very helpful comment. You're absolutely right that the way I was thinking about it, organizing it under each gismu, isn't as efficient as having conversations that relate many gismu together. Instead of a sequence of different gimsnu, maybe it makes more sense to think of it as one giant conversation, THE gimsnu, which we contribute little pieces to each time we discuss one of the gismu. The problem remains of how to retain this flow of information to grow a useful resource for learners. This is the idea that occurs to me now: What if we had a dedicated mailing list, entitled "gimsnu", for discussing the meanings of gismu? You could search the archives of that list for a gismu in order to learn more about its meaning, and the results would be likely to be useful because they're part of the gimsnu. I feel like we should be able to do better than that, though. I think the goal has to be that a beginning student of Lojban can type a gismu in somewhere and get back a substantial quantity of high-quality highly relevant information about the meaning of that gismu. Realistically, how can we expect many people to learn Lojban, if such a basic resource isn't available? mu'o mi'e. bret.
