While I hadn't read much of Alice, the very small part I have read had at least one error -- "fange" used when "fengu" was clearly meant. I know that my Berenstain Bears and the Prize Pumpkin piece, and my translation of Esther, and xorxes' Little Prince have been extensively looked at by pairs of eyes other than the author and discussed, so problems have hopefully been caught. --gejyspa On Fri, Jan 2, 2009 at 12:35 PM, paskal. kos wrote: > 2009/1/2 Tom Gysel : > > Is the lojban translation of Alice In Wonderland trustworthy to learn > from? > > > > Has it been 'revised', so to speak? > > ki'e > > T > > The translation was largely done by xorxes. The translation was largely done by xorxes. He is a very knowledgable
Lojbanist I mutce respect. I've been learning many things from his
translations. In fact he has been the one I most trust for the grammar
of the language. There is always possibility for editorial mistakes to
creep in anyone's writings, though. And I don't know how much Alice
has been revised. But, regarding the amount of such errors in CLL, I
think Alice is relatively trustworthy a piece within the community.
