A cmene is a name.  "Brett Williams" is a cmene, as is= "se ckiku",
though neither one has any cmevla in it.

A cmevla is a category of Lojban word.  They're the only words in<= br> Lojban that end in consonants.

So you can use a cmevla as a cmene, just as you can use a brivla as a
selbri, but you can also use a brivla for a cmene, if you have a
selbri cmene. :)

Brett filed to mention the conve= rse is not true.  A cmevla (like luk) can't be used for anything b= ut a name (either by itself when addressing someone directly -- coi luk., o= r with a la in front of it when used as a sumti -- la luk. klama lo zdani (= Luke went to the house).
(Although you can convert a la+cmevla to a selbri by sticking "me"= ; in front of it -- la pamelas. du pa me la anderson. (Pamela is one of the= Andersons)
