Several times I have encountered the claim that *lojban* sets are rarely used. This appears strange to me, for the following reason. Certain *gismu* , such as *cmima* , *simxu* and probably others *expect* a set for an arguments. For instance, I was trying to translate into *lojban* "We teach each other". The result was *lu'i mi'o simxu le nu ctuca* The *lu'i* is needed here to transform the mass *mi'o* into the set needed for *simxu* . Without it, the meaning would be something like "each of us is a set the elements of which teach each other". So, why *are* sets rarely used? Many thx for any help! Hey everyone.

Several times I have enco= untered the claim that lojban=A0sets are rarely used. This appears s= trange to me, for the following reason. Certain gismu=A0, such as cmima=A0, simxu=A0and probably others expect=A0a set for= an arguments. For instance, I was trying to translate into lojban= =A0"We teach each other". The result was

lu'i mi'o si= mxu le nu ctuca

The lu'i=A0is needed here to transform the mass <= i>mi'o=A0into the set needed for simxu=A0. Without it, the m= eaning would be something like "each of us is a set the elements of wh= ich teach each other".
