R is unvoiced? Funny, I never pronounce it without voice.

Technically, R is one of a small group which doesn't seem to be affected
by voice/unvoice rules. The others are L, M and N. (You'll notice that R
and L are used for fu'ivla hyphenation.)

I also have no clue why brus or bris would be invalid cmene.
