(A) I understand what you mean. There seems to be
a technical problem on your end, then. Can YOU
do anything about it? Maybe the configuration of
the browser or the player you use? I'm not an expert
in these kind of things though...

(B) Has anybody else experienced this kind of problem?
Does anybody use firefox WITHOUT experiencing any
problems?

Jon, there are three (minor?) problems with the solution
you propose:

(1) I would have to redo all the recordings
(2) All the mp3 files would get a little bigger
(thus using a bit more disk space and
taking a bit more time to download)
(3) I use standard technology (i.e. internationally
recognized technologies for which standards exist).
This way my job as webmaster is easier. I'm a
bit worried that I may never finish this project
if I start to tailor the site w.r.t. specific
    client configurations.

Jon, I hope you can understand my point of view?
I won't follow your recommendation unless there
is a strong feedback from other people experiencing
the same problem (B).

Martin
