Yes. I've just check the email header of a message. It's some 50 lines of text. Not easy to understand/edit. So the best may to open a new thread is probably just "send a new message" (not in reply to anything) to lojban-beginners@lojban.org > my client shows the threads as neat tree-like > structures.
