How do the event of my eating the apple and the > event of me sleeping relate in time and space according to how I used {za} > (from your perspective). It's nonsense. Perfectly grammatical, but nonsense. It means that the time difference between eating the apple and now is an event of sleeping. One interpretation is "I ate the apple, then immediately fell asleep, and just woke up." In that case "zi" would imply that I took a catnap and "zu" that I zonked out for more than a day.
