Using an "english 'r' " or trilled 'r' sound just before or after the letter 'e' in lojban turns that sound into a "ei". I'm saying that lojban's "use whatever 'r' sound you like" position will and does lead to potential ambiguity. If someone would show me how saying "lerfu" and "leirfu" sound any different, I would like to know.
