Reading the first sentence of the English, I picture Andrew carrying Andrew's bag, Bob carrying Bob's, and so on. But in the second, Oscar and Philip are both carrying William's bag on William's head, and I reinterpret the first to mean that Andrew carried William's bag, then Bob carried William's bag, and so on. To say this in Lojban, I'd substitute all the "ri" with "ko'a". Pierre -- li fi'u vu'u fi'u fi'u du li pa -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "lojban" group.
