Of course, using type-3 zi'evla is more understandable, but for concepts that are extremely widespread, such as the web, in this case, I believe that the use of type-4 is justified. Some type-3 should never get type-4, by contrast, due to their being very specific. However, in a more relaxed environment where the other party is surely acquainted with the term, why not use the type-4, or make one up on the spot to substitute for the type-3, which are usually quite the mouthful? [uebre] makes an uncanny parallel with [kibro], both using the [br] pair in the same place. Otherwise, for a type-3, who objects to [kibrlxuebre]? zo'oru'e On 25 January 2012 07:58, Pierre Abbat wrote: > On Tuesday, January 24, 2012 22:58:13 Robin Lee Powell wrote: > > On Wed, Jan 25, 2012 at 04:15:05AM +0100, Daniel Brockman wrote: > > > Hi, > > > > > > Considering that the internet is one of the things we discuss most > > > in Lojban (second only to grammar and semantics), it's remarkable > > > that we still have no brivla meaning "the web". > > > > I've been using {skamruebe} (I think that's the type-3? maybe > > xuebe?) for ... most of a decade, probably. > > It should be "skamrxuebe", since "skamruebe" is not type-3, but I like > "uebre". > > Pierre > -- > Jews use a lunisolar calendar; Muslims use a solely lunar calendar. > > -- > You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups > "lojban" group. > To post to this group, send email to lojban@googlegroups.com. > To unsubscribe from this group, send email to > lojban+unsubscribe@googlegroups.com. > For more options, visit this group at > http://groups.google.com/group/lojban?hl=en. > > -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "lojban" group. It should be "skamrxuebe", since "skamruebe" is n= ot type-3, but I like
"uebre".

Jews use a lunisolar calendar; Muslims use a solely lunar calendar.
