Not good if we wanted to list it, search it, export to another mapping service, pipe it into mobile apps, or simply make a back-up. Lock-in =3D=3D lose. * It doesn't appear the data can be be updated once submitted - it's a one-shot process. Using the tiki for authentication ties a user to a given account and allows re-authentication without a separate extraneous database. * There are no anti-spam measures, a map could end up littered with "free pr0nz here" with a tag on your house, for example. On that example map, check out the alien in Russia, he loves burgers. * We can't customise the fields being captured - some basic contact details at the very least might be useful. Using the tiki's authentication could allow for an automated link back to a user's "About Me" page. I see value in being a tool-loving nerd sometimes ;-) kozmikreis On Feb 13, 4:36=A0pm, Luke Bergen wrote: > haha, I love lo jbocecmu.> "Found this cool tool" > >> "That is cool, but it would be better if we re-made it ourselves so th= at > > it's slightly less annoying"> "Ok, let's do that then" > > ... > years and years later > > > "Found this cool tool" > > I love this place. =A0We're the quintessential tool-loving nerds. > > > > > > > > On Mon, Feb 13, 2012 at 8:12 AM, kozmikreis wrote: > > That's a neat little idea, however I'd suggest not using MyGuestmap to > > avoid their advert placement on it and to develop one that perhaps > > ties into the authorisation system of the tiki. =A0Shouldn't be > > difficult to do our own little map mashup (I'm not volunteering myself > > btw). > > > kozmikreis > > > On Feb 13, 11:09 am, selpa'i wrote: > > > Hello there, > > > > today someone asked on IRC whether there was a map that showed where > > > they could find other speakers and learners of Lojban and whether the= re > > > were such people in their area. > > > I remembered then, that we have such a thing for Toki Pona and it wou= ld > > > indeed be very nice to use it for Lojban as well.
