The point is that in most languag= es in order to describe smell we have to use words used for other senses.

.e'u they don't borrow roots from ot= her arbitrary words like English classification does.

It has been proposed that there are seven primary odors: (with e= xamples)

  1. Musky- perfumes/afters= have
  2. Putrid- rotten eggs
  3. Pungent= - vinegar
  4. Camphoraceous- mothballs
  5. E= thereal- dry cleaning fluid
  6. Floral- roses
  7. Pepperminty- mint gum
