Unless, perhaps, someone can cite different existing cultures doing i= t
differently. But I don't think that's the case.

You don't seem to understand what culturally neutr= al means. If there is no culture that does a certain thing differently than= the other cultures, than us also doing it that way is /not/ culturally bia= sed. In order for it to be biased, it has to be something one (subset) of t= he various cultures do in this way.
