I think it means a = cover > for a can containing something which is both plastic and cat food, which = got > me laughing. (Actually I thought of a plastic cat, before I saw "bo".) I = think > it's supposed to mean a plastic cover for a can of cat food. Would that b= e > "mlatu cidja lante ke slasi gacri"? Your tanru works, but the original one is also correct. Tanru=20 connectives don't remove the vagueness from tanru, so "slasi je mlatu bo=20 cidja lante gacri" has two interpretations: 1) A cover for a can that contains something which is both plastic and=20 cat food. (your interpretation) 2) A plastic cover for a can of cat food. You get the second meaning by refactoring the tanru without the tanru=20 connective: (1a) slasi je mlatu bo cidja lante gacri (1b) slasi lante gacri .i je mlatu cidja lante gacri Here it is clear that we are dealing with two seperate tanru. Or, if you like, using "ke ... ke'e": (1c) ke slasi lante gacri ke'e je ke mlatu cidja lante gacri ke'e If you place each "ke ... ke'e" part right under each other, you can see=20 that they overlap to a certain point, and the rest that does not overlap=20 gets a "je" to abbreviate it. ke [slasi] lante gacri ke'e je ke [mlatu cidja] lante gacri ke'e [slasi] je [mlatu cidja] lante gacri So as you can see, the original tanru gives us multiple readings, at=20 least one of which does make sense. mu'o mi'e la selpa'i --=20 pilno zo le xu .i lo dei bangu cu se cmene zo lojbo je nai zo lejbo do=E1=BB=8B m=C3=A8lbi mlen=C3=AC'u .i do c=C3=A0tlu ki'u ma fe la x=C3=A0mpre =C5=ADu .i do t=C3=ACnsa c=C3=A0rmi gi je s=C3=ACrji se t=C3=A0rmi .i ta=E1=BB=8B bo da'i pu c=C3=ACtka lo gr=C3=A0na ku . . --=20 You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "= lojban" group.
