The = story of {lo} continues to develop toward a reasonable place. It intr= oduces the salient members of the class, made so either by context or by an= earlier {su'o da poi} or whatever. {le} continues in a still more ob= scure usage, whose only virtue seems to be that the description may not be = accurate (not an obvious advantage). {lo} keeps its referent througho= ut the context, amounting to an implicitly far left particular quantifier (= and even absorbs the earlier quantifier, if there was one). Ot at lea= st that is the extrapolation of the current trend.

Sumti that are attached to a selbri in a place that is undefined in jb= ovlaste, get a "context dependend" meaning. It would be very stretchy to in= terpret the tunlo2 differently from "what is being swallowed". That said, I= think that tunlo2 should have been defined this way since the beginning :)=

About lo/le, I have the habit of switching to {le} when I talk ab= out a specific thing that might have been introduced with {lo}.

Af= ter having said {lo labno noi ....} any time I write {le labno} I mean *tha= t* wolf. If I wrote {lo labno} I might mean another wolf.

Actually I do expect the listener to understand which one I mean, of = course I'm not guaranteed that he/she will but, if I'm careful, I hope I ca= n be understood. Otherwise it would rather useless to me.

According to jbovlaste, "tunlo" does not have an x2. According to jbo= fi'e, it
does.

Normally in Lojban, unlike English, French, and I suppose also Italian, one=
does not switch from the indefinite article to the definite on second refer= ence.
"le" indicates that the speaker has something in mind, but not that he expe= cts
the listener to know what it is.
