This time the files worked ok... but I'm sorry to be the bringer of bad 
news.

I installed everything as instructed, started typing a word (tried several 
times with different words) and the software stops working. Error message 
is "GoldenDict dictionary lookup program has stopped working
A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close 
the program and notify if a solution is available."

FYI, I did not have a previous version of slovacukt/Goldendict in this 
computer. I'm using Windows 8.

I hope this is a minor issue that can be fixed easily. I'll keep trying.
