I want to add that within countries where Spanish is the official
language, is common to find names like:
Consuelo
Margarita
Soledad
Pastor
Purificaci=F3n
Concepci=F3n
Rosa
Linda
Bella
Amado (which in Lojban is {selpa'i}, one of those "nicknames")
Pura
Mercado (this means "market" and it's a surname)

This list is what I could list from the top of my head. All of those
are used as names and are "content words" too. So, "presumably"
*nobody* would give anyone a nickname? Think again.
