Hoi logli,

I have conferred with the management of the Institute and find that I do
have authority to do this, so...

I am appointing Cyril Slobin and John Cowan to the Loglan Academy (la
Keugru), and they have accepted.  I am a member ex officio as the chief
executive officer (la Cefli, in Loglan, soi crano).  Decisions of the
Academy will be by majority vote; as CEO I have a veto though I expect not
to use it often if at all.  I hope that decisions will in fact be reached
slowly and by consensus.

The Academy is considering a further nomination or two, and members of the
last incarnation of la Keugru are welcome to continue to sit if so
inclined.  Please contact me if you are in this category.

I will write some kind of document governing the work of the Academy, but
in general terms its responsibility is making or overseeing decisions about
the official definition of the language (grammar and dictionary work) and
matters related to its own membership (further members will be elected by
the Academy, not appointed by me).

The Membership (the members of the loglanists list and anyone else who
considers themselves a loglanist) are also an important (an indispensible!)
part of the process of doing Loglan.  Please continue to fill the List and
the mailboxes of individual members of the Academy with your suggestions
and your Loglan chatter (we would like to hear more of that!)
