=E2=80= =A6 each containing a consonant cluster, and (possibly, in a global perspec= tive) a relatively weird one: /dib=CA=94/, /dir=CA=94/, /paf=CA=94/. >:-= > (Although, admittedly, the grammar allows for eliding the /=CA=94/ at = the end of the speech stream.)

While babies=E2=80=99 (in)competence to enunciate consonant clusters is= probably the same all over the globe, languages=E2=80=99 phonologies are n= ot. So, I guess Tahitian baby talk will sound more or less like =E2=80=98re= al=E2=80=99 Tahitian before Nux=C3=A1lk (http://en.wikipedia= .org/wiki/Nux%C3%A1lk_language#Syllables =E2=80=A6 wtf) baby talk sound= s like =E2=80=98real=E2=80=99 Nux=C3=A1lk.

I=E2=80=99m not sure how much that has to do with language preference i= n bilingual households.
