I just asked Joel about it. Joel is Brazilian and his wife is Costa Rican;= =20 they speak Portuguese to each other and to their children. When Ale was aro= und=20 1.5, she strongly wanted to learn English, because no one around her spoke= =20 Portuguese except her parents. She even made up English-sounding words that= no=20 one understood. But when they visited somewhere in Florida where there's a= =20 concentration of Brazilians and a Brazilian church, she was fine with=20 Portuguese. So the reason K&F want to speak English is not that Lojban is= =20 harder to pronounce, but that no one else around them speaks it. Pierre --=20 La sal en el mar es m=E1s que en la sangre.
