Right now, probably around 1/2.  When I was actively using the language.=20
  I was able to do the full gismu list in recall (knowing the Lojban=20
word from the English keyword) or recognition (being able to give=20
English keyword for the Lojban) in excess of 97% accuracy as measured by=20
LogFlash.   At that level, typing accuracy at speed is more important=20
than actually knowing the words - most of my errors were typos.

(Recall is substantially harder than recog - I was essentially perfect=20
on recog long before I mastered recall)

Probably around 30% on recog or recall.  I was at one point up to 80% on=20
recall, and near 100% on recog.

When I actively did LogFlash, it was on a daily basis, an hour a day=20
when first learning, and 20-30 minutes a day for maintenance.  I stopped=20
doing active maintenance before 1991, but was able to get 50% recall on=20
first pass, and above 80% recall on a second pass through all of the=20
words, and in excess of 90% after that (50-100 words a day).  I did this=20
several times during the 1990s after gaps of 6 months or more.  I have=20
not significantly used LogFlash since 2003 or 2004 when we last held=20
LogFest annually at our house in Fairfax (it was part of our annual=20
preparation so spend at least some time).

LogFlash, flashcard program, which is a DOS program that still runs up=20
to WinXP, and under DOSBOX with Windows 7.  It is still available on the=20
Lojban website.

The program implemented an algorithm that JCB developed for Loglan back=20
in the 1960s-1970s and extensively tested with paper flash cards. It was=20
fine-tuned for optimized vocabulary learning and was awesomely=20
effective.  Any flash card method will probably work to some extent, but=20
it must go both directions (recog and recall) to be able to fully use=20
the vocabulary.

We also used Nora's random sentence generator and random lujvo generator=20
to learn and test vocabulary in context.  But that did not provide any=20
measurement of how skilled we were (we were trying to link these=20
programs into LogFlash , but no one except us ever reported using the=20
rafsi version of the program, and Nora stopped actively working on it in=20
the 1990s).

rafsi in 1994, and I never went through LogFlash with the remade list).

Nora would give essentially the same answers as me for gismu, except=20
that she has used LogFlash more often and more recently for maintenance,=20
but generally tended to be satisfied to achieve 90%-95% recall accuracy.=20
  She also did the cmavo at least one time, probably to around 80%.  I=20
believe that she did not significantly use LogFlash for learning the=20
rafsi other than testing the program, only the lujvo generator.
