Do you speak lojban to anyone but them? I've known some bilingual families, 
and the successful ones either both speak the foreign language at home, or 
else each parent exclusively speaks one language at home--to each other as 
well as the children. The ones I've known where the parent speaks the 
foreign language only to the child, the child seems to follow the pattern 
you describe, and stops emitting after a while.
