Sorry, I can=E2=80=99t find the discussion, so I repeat the idea. The term =E2=80=9Cbu letteral=E2=80=9D was for combinations of the form =E2=80=9C bu=E2=80=9D, eg. =E2=80=9C.a bu=E2=80=9D, =E2=80=9C.e = bu=E2=80=9D, =E2=80=9Cdenpa bu=E2=80=9D, etc. Of course, the question how to say this in Lojban came up. Xorxes suggested =E2=80=9Cbu letteral=E2=80=9D to be lojbanized as =E2=80= =9Czo bu zei lerfu=E2=80=9D. This looks strange and unintitive to me. I am not even sure if this is grammatical and if yes, under _which_ grammar? xD PEG? YACC? Something else? But I have a much better idea. Did you know that =E2=80=9Cbu=E2=80=9D has 2= rafsi? They are =E2=80=9Cbus=E2=80=9D and =E2=80=9Cbu'i=E2=80=9D. So I could make = the wonderful lujvo =E2=80=9Cbusle'u=E2=80=9D to mean =E2=80=9Cx_1 (text) is a =E2=80=98bu lett= eral=E2=80=99=E2=80=9D. Example: =E2=80=9Clu .a bu li'u busle'u=E2=80=9D I admit, the definition needs to be improved, but I think you get the idea. A =E2=80=9Czei lujvo=E2=80=9D (as I understood it) is defined as any lujvo = which uses the cmavo =E2=80=9Czei=E2=80=9D in it and the =E2=80=9Czei=E2=80=9D can=E2= =80=99t be =E2=80=9Csimplified away=E2=80=9D. So =E2=80=9Cte'o zei dugri=E2=80=9D is a =E2=80=9Czei lujvo=E2=80=9D because it has a =E2=80= =9Czei=E2=80=9D in it and it can=E2=80=99t be shortened. However, =E2=80=9Cgerku zei zdani=E2=80=9D is not a =E2=80=9Czei= =E2=80=9D lujvo, because it can be simplified to =E2=80=9Cgerzda=E2=80=9D and means the same thing. I forgot about the suggested lojbanization for =E2=80=9Czei lujvo=E2=80=9D = and I have no idea how to lojbanize this without disturbing the grammar. Obviously =E2=80=9Czei lujvo=E2=80=9D alone is not valid Lojban. --=20 You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "= lojban" group.
